Port Corpus Christi’s $139M channel expansion contract awarded

Houston-based Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. has been awarded a $139 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to work on the third phase of the Port of Corpus Christi ship channel improvement project.

The four-phase, $651 million infrastructure project will increase the channel’s depth to 54 feet from 47 feet and widen it to 530 feet, from its current width of 400 feet.

Port of Corpus Christi aims to be large-scale carbon storage hub

The Port of Corpus Christi and the Texas General Land Office (GLO) have announced an agreement to develop carbon storage solutions in the Coastal Bend region along the Gulf of Mexico.

Coast Guard, salvage crews recover remaining dredging vessel crew

Coast Guard and salvage crews recovered the bodies of the two remaining crewmembers Monday after recovering a portion of the dredging vessel Waymon L Boyd from the Corpus Christi Ship Channel in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Four bodies recovered following Corpus Christi channel fire

The bodies of all four dredging vessel crew members killed in Friday’s fire in the ship channel at the Port of Corpus Christi in Texas have been recovered.
