FedEx, UPS activate delivery networks after FDA approves Pfizer vaccine

FedEx (NYSE: FDX) and UPS (NYSE: UPS) trucks are expected to roll out of Pfizer’s (NYSE: PFE) pharmaceutical facilities Saturday, carrying the first 2.9 million-dose batch of COVID-19 vaccines to designated drop facilities in each state and to airports for longer trips.

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday night gave the go-ahead for the drug’s emergency public use.

FedEx, partner win $70M Canada COVID-19 vaccine logistics contract

FedEx Canada and partner Innomar Strategies have won a CA$90.4 million ($70.5 million) logistics contract from the Canadian government to distribute COVID-19 vaccines. 

The government posted the award notice on Tuesday. FedEx (NYSE:FDX) and Innomar, the Canadian subsidiary of U.S. drug distributor AmerisourceBergen (NYSE:ABC), competed with Kuehne + Nagel, McKesson Canada and UPS Healthcare for the contract.
