12 migrant stowaways interdicted on barge headed into San Juan

U.S. Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection have apprehended 12 stowaway migrants in a response that began at 8.43 a.m Saturday, Nov. 25, when watchstanders at Sector San Juan received notification from a Coast Guard Station San Juan boat crew of a possible stowaway sighting aboard a barge that was being towed by the tugboat Sarah Dann.

South Texas port of entry set to reopen as migrant camp cleared

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said a South Texas port of entry could reopen as soon as Saturday, after being forced to close because of a migrant surge that disrupted operations.

The Port of Del Rio has been closed since Sept. 17 after migrants had converged on the temporary camp site under the Del Río-Ciudad Acuña International Bridge.

CBP has been diverting both commercial and passenger traffic from Del Rio to the Eagle Pass port of entry, about 57 miles east.

Audit recommends enhancements for DHS air cargo security programs

Marijuana, meth, e-cigarettes seized at Texas ports

More than $3.6 million in marijuana, methamphetamine and unauthorized e-cigarettes were seized from Texas ports during three recent incidents.
