Two Iranians behind Port of San Diego cyber attack

The US Justice Department announced that two Iranian hackers were behind an international computer hacking and extortion scheme. This scheme had also affected the Port of San Diego during September, disrupting its information technology systems.

FBI and Homeland Security to investigate cyber attack demanding bitcoin at Port of San Diego

The Port of San Diego was a victim of a ransomware attack and is partnering with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security to investigate the matter, Port CEO Randa Coniglio said in a statement released Thursday.

Port of San Diego suffers cyber-attack, second port in a week after Barcelona

Two major international ports fell victim to cyber-attacks within the span of a week, putting the shipping industry on alert for a possible threat actor targeting the entire sector.

Cyber security incidents reduced, but more measures are needed, report says

BIMCO, Fairplay and ABS Advanced Solutions conducted a cyber security survey, which showed that while the number of cyber related attacks within the last 12 months has decreased, protective measures, training and awareness need to improve.
