BoxC links with FDA for faster e-commerce customs clearance

Global shipping platform BoxC announced that through a data-sharing initiative with U.S. Customs and Border Protection its e-commerce merchants shipping Food and Drug Administration-regulated products will have the capability to send products individually to the U.S. and receive the same clearance rate as bulk shipping.

Hapag Lloyd to start real-time box tracking

Container shipping company Hapag Lloyd will begin mass installation of real-time tracking devices on its containers at its depots worldwide.

US Federal Maritime Commission intends to use the work of the DCSA as a “template” for data standards

Carl W Bentzel, a commissioner of the US Federal Maritime Commission, has stated that the US FMC intends to use “much of what [the Digital Container Shipping Association] has done as a template for emerging national standards for intermodal maritime data, from point of origin to ultimate destination”.
