Washburn & Doughty delivers Tier 4 tractor tug to McAllister

McAllister Towing has announced the arrival of the 93’x38′ tug Eileen McAllister, the 34th tractor tug in McAllister’s fleet.

The new tug is powered by 3516E Tier 4 Caterpillar engines with twin Schottel SRP 490 Z-drive units. Packed into the hull is 6,770 hp. She achieved over 84 metric tons during her ABS bollard pull certification. The Eileen McAllister will soon join her sister vessel, the Tate McAllister, as the most powerful tug in Port Everglades, Fla.

Armstrong Marine delivers 46′ landing craft to Alaska

The 46’x15′ high-tunnel catamaran OMC was recently delivered to Alaska after successful launch and sea trials in Port Angeles (Wash.) Harbor.

Last fall, Chenega Future Inc. (CFI) awarded Armstrong Marine a contract to design and build the vessel. CFI is a non-profit, wholly independent foundation established and funded by the Chenega Corp.. CFI provides scholarships for education and training to all Chenega native shareholders, spouses of living shareholders and their descendants.

Veth Propulsion delivers 4,000th thruster

Twin Disc Inc.’s Veth Propulsion has delivered its 4,000th thruster. To commemorate the accomplishment, Tim Batten, managing director, and Erik Veth, resigning managing director, traveled to Greece to deliver a special edition golden thruster.

The 4,000th thruster will be mounted on the Protoporos 15, one of 15 ferryboats owned by loyal customers, the Tsokos family. Each vessel in the fleet is equipped with four Veth thrusters varying from VZ-400 to VZ-550 Z-drives.

Bollinger Shipyards, Lockport, La., has delivered the 154’x25′ William Hart, the 34th Fast Response Cutter (FRC) to the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard took delivery on May 23, 2019 in Key West, Fla.

Austal USA delivers 10th Expeditionary Fast Transport to Navy

Austal USA delivered the Expeditionary Fast Transport ship Burlington (EPF 10) to the U.S. Navy during a ceremony onboard the ship at the company’s headquarters in Mobile, Ala., Nov. 15. This is the fourth ship Austal has delivered to the Navy this year.
