Lufthansa Cargo has relocated its cargo warehouse inside the gate at Detroit’s main airport to improve operational efficiency and support growing international volumes.

Businesses that move freight with German flag carrier Lufthansa through Detroit will save time and be able to tender a greater variety of specialty products because cargo processing has moved to an airside building from an off-airport location, eliminating the need to shuttle goods by truck.

Daimler will package own components for electric trucks

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is going to offer its own Detroit-branded ePowertrain when it begins selling the battery electric-powered Freightliner eCascadia and Freightliner eM2 next year.

Amazon to build massive DC at old Michigan state fair site

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will spend $400 million to build a 3.8 million-square-foot distribution center on 70 acres of the former Michigan State Fairgrounds in Detroit, city officials said Tuesday.

The facility, set to open in mid-2022, will bring at least 1,200 jobs to Detroit, Mayor Mike Duggan said in a statement.
