DHL Supply Chain closing Texas facility

Freight giant DHL Supply Chain will permanently close a logistics facility in Baytown, Texas, laying off 97 workers by May 31, according to a notice sent to state officials Friday.

The company did not provide a reason for the facility’s closure in the notice sent to the Texas Workforce Commission. DHL Supply Chain is a division of Bonn, Germany-based Deutsche Post DHL.

‘Dynamic peak season’ provides a record profit for Deutsche Post-DHL

German logistics giant Deutsche Post-DHL is set to report record financial results for 2020, “fuelled by an extremely dynamic peak season”.
It has released preliminary figures that show it expects to beat its previous ebit guidance by over €400m ($487m).

Deutsche Post DHL posts solid third-quarter results

Deutsche Post DHL Group (NASDAQ:DPSGY) Tuesday posted a 4.4% year-on-year increase in group revenue to US$19.1 billion, with “organic” revenue up 9% after adjusting for a gain in the quarter from currency fluctuations.

The Bonn, Germany-based transport and logistics giant posted third-quarter earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of $1.62 billion, up 46% from the year-earlier period. Diluted earnings per share grew nearly 49% to 79 cents per share, the company said.

Workhorse gets jolt for zero-emissions electric vans

Workhorse zero-emissions electric vans

Workhorse Group Inc. (NASDAQ: WKHS) can sell its zero-emission C-Series electric delivery vans in all 50 states after a California ruling buttressed a federal finding in the company’s favor.

Now, Workhorse just has to build the vans.

The Cincinnati-based manufacturer is building a couple of trucks a day at its Union City, Indiana plant. The goal is 300 to 400 vans this year. United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS) and DHL have placed orders for about 1,100 vans.
