Seizing nearly $8 million worth of opium found in two shipping containers at Port of Vancouver wasn’t enough for Canadian police and border officers. They swapped out the drugs with a dummy substance and followed the shipment to a warehouse where they arrested five suspects.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents recently seized a shipment of cereal from South America that they said was covered in cocaine instead of sugar.

CBP officers reportedly intercepted the cocaine in a shipment of cereal originating from Peru on Feb. 13 at the Port of Cincinnati.

CBP narcotic K-9 Bico was working incoming freight from Peru when he was alerted to a large shipment of cereal headed to a private residence in Hong Kong, investigators said.

CBP agents find drugs in shipments of candles, toilet paper, cabinets

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers recently seized cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine worth more than $2.8 million in separate incidents in Texas, authorities said.

The largest seizure occurred at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in Pharr, Texas, on Friday. Agents detected packages containing alleged fentanyl and cocaine worth $890,000 in a commercial tractor-trailer arriving from Mexico with fresh produce.

Marijuana, meth, e-cigarettes seized at Texas ports

More than $3.6 million in marijuana, methamphetamine and unauthorized e-cigarettes were seized from Texas ports during three recent incidents.

The first case occurred in late December when U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized 42 separate e-cigarette shipments arriving from China destined for various Texas counties.

Trucker denied knowing about $20M in marijuana in border bust

A trucker charged with attempting to smuggle $20 million worth of marijuana from Canada into the United States told investigators he didn’t know about the nearly 9,500 pounds of drugs hidden in storage containers in his trailer, according to a court document.
