Cargo Transporters announces 3rd pay increase for drivers

With a tight labor market for truck drivers, dry van truckload carrier Cargo Transporters announced its third and largest pay increase this year.

The company’s “all-in” pay option will increase from 58 cents per mile to 60 cents per mile for new and existing single drivers.

Cargo Transporters’ all-in pay structure option was announced in January. The all-in pay structure is aimed at giving drivers a choice in how they are paid.

Lumber prices keep tight grip on shippers and importers

For lumber suppliers, the tight supply and mile-high price of lumber that impacted construction projects nationwide this spring continue to cause frustration. Cool Mountain Transport boosts pay in hunt for drivers

Cool Mountain Transport, an Idaho-based trucking company, recently announced it is increasing its driver pay from 50 cents to 62 cents per mile. 

It is the largest pay increase in the company’s history, according to Tork Fulton, CEO of Cool Mountain Transport. 

The company raised its base rate to 54 cents per mile and added a 4 cent-per-mile performance bonus and a 4 cent-per-mile safety bonus.

September trailer orders go bonkers at 52,000 units

Preliminary orders for new trailers hit 52,000 units in September, the third-highest month in history as fleet bookings looked like the last market overheating in late 2018. The pandemic and consumer goods demand to support life and work at home continues unabated.

The highest monthly orders for trailers came in October 2014 followed by December 2017.
