MAN 51/60DF passes the 10 million operating hours milestone.

MAN Energy Solutions reports that its MAN 51/60DF dual fuel engine has passed the 10 million operating hours milestone. The engine was added to MAN Energy Solutions’ portfolio in 2009 and there are now 310 engines currently in service – an increase of almost 100 units since 2022.

New ultra-low emissions Wärtsilä 31DF cuts methane slip

Wärtsilä has introduced a new ultra-low emissions version of its Wärtsilä 31DF engine, first introduced in 2015. When operating on LNG, this new version of the dual fuel engine can further reduce methane emissions on a 50% load point by up to 56% and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 86%. According to an article published in Offshore Energy, CSSC’s subsidiary China Shipbuilding Power Group has delivered CX40DF, China’s first low-speed LNG dual-fuel marine engine, in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu.

Canada Based Shipping Company Orders New Methanol Fuelled Ships

Canada-based Waterfront Shipping Company (WFS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Methanex Corporation, has placed an order for eight new methanol dual-fuel vessels with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, reports Offshore Energy.

Delivery to arrive by 2023
