New 7,000-hp McAllister tug arrives in Charleston

McAllister Towing and Transportation Co. Inc. announced that the 6,770-hp tug Capt. Jim McAllister arrived today at the Port of Charleston, S.C. The Capt. Jim was delivered by Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Panama City, Fla., on Aug. 16.

The Capt. Jim is the fourth in a series of four 100’x40′, 80-MT bollard pull tugboats. The tug is the 33rd tractor tug in McAllister’s fleet.

McAllister to McAllister Towing and Transportation Co., New York, on May 31, 2019. Steel cut for first Coast Guard offshore patrol cutter

Fairbanks Morse gets engines contract for offshore patrol cutter

Fairbanks Morse, Beloit, Wisc., has been awarded a contract to build and deliver the main propulsion diesel engines (MPDE) for the Coast Guard’s offshore patrol cutter Chase.
