Suez Canal Blockage’s Delayed Containers, 54 Of 64 Now Processed

64 container ships en route to Rotterdam that were delayed when the Suez Canal was blocked after the Ever Given ran aground on 23 March.
54 vessels have now been processed, three vessels were cancelled, two are currently being processed, one is at anchor and four are en route.

Egypt To Seek $1bn Compensation for Suez Canal Crisis

Egypt said it may seek around $1 billion in compensation after the giant container vessel blocked the Suez Canal for almost a week and roiled shipping markets.
The $1bn figure would compensate for losses associated with transit fees, damage to the waterway during the dredging and salvage efforts, and the cost of equipment and labour.

Attempts To Refloat the Grounded Vessel

One of two dredgers working to release the Evergreen containership, has nearly completed work to free its bow and attempts to refloat the vessel will begin shortly.
Nearly 240 vessels are awaiting transit through the Suez Canal as further attempts are made to release the Panama-flagged, 200,000 tonne Evergreen vessel.
Ever Given was transiting northbound through the Canal en-route from China to Rotterdam when it grounded.
