Brown Bear Transportation acquires fuel hauler Abenaqui Carriers

Brown Bear Transportation, a division of Roberts Energy, announced Monday that it is expanding its reach throughout the Northeast with the recent acquisition of petroleum hauler Abenaqui Carriers.

Abenaqui Carriers, a division of P.S. Marston of North Hampton, New Hampshire, has nearly 80 drivers and 45 power units, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s SAFER website.

The tentacles of tanker trucking’s driver shortage — Taking the Hire Road

Hours-of-service waiver issued in wake of pipeline cyberattack

Federal regulators issued on Sunday an emergency work-rule exemption for truck drivers and motor carriers as a result of the Colonial Pipeline shutdown.

The shutdown that occurred on Friday and was caused by a cybersecurity ransomware attack warrants a Regional Emergency Declaration and an exemption from Parts 390 through 399 of federal motor carrier safety regulations, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
