In the last two weeks it has been my pleasure to travel to both Athens (Hellenic American Maritime Forum) and Oslo (NorShipping) and meet with maritime stakeholders.  While all carry the passion for shipping, they are often diametrically opposed when it comes to compliance with the upcoming IMO 2020 regulations.

6 dead as boat transporting migrants sinks off Mytilene, Greece

Six have lost their lives after a boat that was transporting migrants sank off the Greek island of Mytilene, on May 11. According to sources, another 58 people were rescued, which were then transported to the port of Mytilene.

After a boat that was transporting migrants sank off Mytilene, six people died. The boat sank at 7 a.m local time, about 2.5 miles off the island.
