H.I.G. Capital makes strategic investment in Cleo

Cleo, which like other companies involved in business-to-business (B2B) technology, saw rapid growth in the past year as online commerce and communication accelerated, has received a strategic investment from an affiliate of alternative investment firm H.I.G. Capital.

The companies did not disclose how much the investment was, and Cleo declined to provide an update of previous investment rounds.

Cardinal Logistics acquires final-mile provider NRX

Deal will nearly double Cardinal's annual final-mile deliveries

Transportation and logistics provider Cardinal Logistics announced Wednesday that it acquired last-mile delivery provider NRX Logistics.

The deal is expected to nearly double Cardinal’s annual final-mile deliveries to approximately 1.1 million. It also expands its high-touch delivery capabilities of heavy goods like furniture, appliances, bedding and exercise equipment.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. NRX generated $35 million in annual revenue prior to the announcement.

Capstone Logistics returns to H.I.G. Capital

Alternative investment firm H.I.G. Capital announced that an affiliate company has entered into an agreement to acquire Capstone Logistics from an affiliate company of private equity firm The Jordan Co.

Based in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Capstone was formed by H.I.G. Capital in 2011, when it merged portfolio company Progressive Logistics Services with LMS Intellibound. H.I.G. sold Capstone to The Jordan Company in 2014.
