Even with a stream of positive news releases, the signs and warnings for Hyzon were there. Now reality has arrived: Fuel cell developer Hyzon Motors is the latest startup to give up after going public during the SPAC craze of 2020-2021.

Hyzon fought through numerous obstacles, including a $25 million fine from the Securities and Exchange Commission related to fabricating orders for hydrogen-powered commercial trucks in China.

ChargePoint’s latest downsizing intended to help stop the bleeding

ChargePoint Holdings is laying off more than 200 employees – 15% of its workforce – in its second downsizing this year. The manufacturer of electric vehicle chargers cut 12% – about 198 jobs – from its global workforce in January.

3 legacy manufacturers unveil medium-duty electric trucks

The medium-duty field for electric trucks grew by four new entries on Wednesday as Mack Truck, Isuzu and Hino Trucks revealed battery-powered models.

All three made their announcements at the NTEA Work Truck Week industry trade show in Indianapolis.
