Hirschbach and LGBT Truckers unveil new Rainbow Rider truck Saturday

After Shelle Lichti’s Pride-themed Freightliner dubbed the Rainbow Rider sustained significant damage following a serious truck crash in April, the 28-year trucking veteran took some time off the road to heal emotionally while her beloved truck was being repaired.

But Lichti plans to start rolling again soon thanks to some help from her company, Hirschbach Motor Lines, headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa.

Disaster relief trucking organization delivers hope to survivors

Truckers hauling natural disaster relief supplies

Long-haul trucker Shelli Conaway has logged over 3 million miles in her nearly 30-year trucking career and also coordinates disaster relief efforts from the cab of her truck.

Conaway of Lexington, Kentucky, runs a nonprofit group called Trucks with Room to Spare.  Her group delivers critical supplies, including tarps, food and ice, to those hardest hit by natural disasters in the U.S.
