July Volume Dips: POLA and POLB Experience Yearly Decreases

July volumes, for the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB) saw declines, according recently issued by each port.

Total POLA volume, at 684,291 TEU (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units), saw a 26.85% annual decline compared to the record-setting July 2022, at 935,423 TEU. July’s tally was roughly 18% below June’s 833,045 TEU, marking the highest-volume month going back to July 2022, which was an all-time record month for POLA.

Latam Cargo launches flower flights to Los Angeles

Latam Airlines Group has opened a new all-cargo route connecting Los Angeles and Houston to South America to support exporters of flowers and industrial products. 

Latam Cargo, which operates 17 Boeing 767-300 freighters and plans to add four more by 2024, announced Thursday it is offering twice-weekly frequencies on the following route: Quito, Ecuador; Los Angeles; Houston; Manaus, Brazil; and Sao Paulo. January import volumes at the ten largest US container ports fell 17.9% against the record throughput of January last year, with the biggest declines at west coast ports, says an article published on The loadstar.
