Η δεύτερη σε μέγεθος ρωσική εταιρεία παραγωγής πετρελαίου, η Lukoil, προσβλέπει σε αύξηση της παραγωγής της στα 1,67 εκατ. βαρέλια ανά ημέρα το 2022, ανέφερε ο διευθύνων σύμβουλος της εταιρείας, Vagit Alekperov. Μετά τη συμφωνία OPEC+ του 2020, που προέβλεπε μείωση της παραγωγής πετρελαίου για δύο έτη, ώστε να ελεγχθεί η κατάρρευση της τιμής του λόγω πανδημίας, η παραγωγή της Lukoil είχε πέσει κατά 19% σε σχέση με τα προ πανδημίας επίπεδα.
