Maersk Tankers’ new parental policy leave excludes seafarers

In January, Maersk Tankers announced a new parental leave policy for their employees, enabling fathers with a paid four-week paternity leave; Nautilus now clarifies that the new policy concerns only the onshore crew of the company and not the crew onboard.

Specifically, Nautilus noted that seafarers employed by Maersk Tankers are excluded from the company’s new Parental Leave policy.

Contacting with a company’s spokesperson, Nautilus revealed that the policy is applicable to shore employees only.

Maersk containership experiences engine failure in Gibraltar Strait

Maersk reported that one of its containerships experienced main engine failure and began drifting in the Gibraltar Strait on January 29, 2020, adding that because of this difficulty the vessel is expected to be delayed.

Specifically, the 3,078 TEU containership Maersk Batur departed from Algeciras, Spain, sailing towards Neward, the USA.

Maersk undertakes Sri Lanka’s first electric car delivery

The container logistics company, Maersk announced that undertook the pick, pack and the final delivery of the first-ever Sri Lankan made electric supercar named as “Vega EVX”. Namely, the car will be embarked in one of  Maersk’s containers and is scheduled to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
