Glander CEO Predicts Gasoil, MDO To Be Short-term IMO 2020 Fuel Choices

According to a Platts report, most shipowners are looking towards a marine gasoil or marine diesel oil shift in the short term and 0.5% LSFO blends in the mid- to long term in order meet the IMO 2020 sulphur regulations, said Glander International Bunkering CEO Carsten Ladekjaer.

Japan’s Bunker Fuel Sales Fall 18.6% From Nov

According to Trade and Industry data, Japan sold 2.32 million barrels of bonded bunker fuel in December 2018, down 18.6% from November and 8.9% from December 2017, reports Platts.

The Sales Update

Bonded bunker fuel sales were up 8.18% from 2017 at 29.7 million barrels for the whole of 2018.
METI’s data also showed that Japan’s December 2018 sales of bonded marine diesel oil fell 19.7% month on month and 23.8% year on year, to 59,975 barrels.
