Part of the Al Raiya Group, Amaan Baghdad is establishing a “groundbreaking and ambitious” project to establish a floating maritime platform in Iraqi waters. The new facility, based around a jack up barge, will serve as a multi-functional hub offering a wide range of services, and will be operated as Basra Sea Support and Services (BSSS).

Kongsberg Maritime to provide design and technology for new Egyptian tugboats

Norway’s Kongsberg Maritime has won a contract to provide the design and equipment for two powerful salvage tugs being built by Alexandria Shipyard as main contractor on behalf of the Suez Canal Authority. The tugs will be based on Kongsberg Maritime’s UT 722 CDT design.

Qatari firm signs marine engineering co-operation agreement

Qatar-based N-KOM and global maritime technology company Kongsberg have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that establishes a framework for collaboration in the maritime engineering services sector.
