Banning cargo ships during COVID-19 outbreak poses risk of severe harm to Australians

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has late this morning (18 March) banned all commercial ships from entering ports in Queensland if the ship, or any person onboard, has been in any country outside of Australia within the last 14-days. Freight industry unanimous on need for access ramps on Sydney Gateway – but Minister Constance plays ‘three wise monkeys’

Freight and transport industry groups agree there is a need for access ramps from the Sydney Gateway link to the Cooks River inter-modal hub. This morning they released a joint statement calling for the access ramps to be reinstated.

The initial design for the Gateway circulated by Roads and Maritime Services included these ramps, but they were removed from an updated design due to “cost concerns” without consultation.

Delayed start, but Australian’s will still pay more through new Biosecurity Levy

The delayed start date of 1 September for the new
biosecurity levy announced in last night’s budget was inevitable.

Collinson Forex takes the honours at SAL New South Wales Golf Day

The annual SAL New South Wales Golf Day, held at the Coast Golf Club on Wednesday 13th March was a great success. The forecast rain held off until near the end of the event and there was a good attendance. Players were rewarded with spectacular views of the coast and ocean.
