Four individuals have been charged in a conspiracy to sell phony Coast Guard merchant mariner credentials in Norfolk, Va., the U.S. Department of Justice announced yesterday.

Coast Guard again extends MMC endorsements

The Coast Guard announced last week that Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMC) that expire between March 1 and Sept. 30 are now extended until March 31, 2021. Mariners who are actively working on expired credentials that meet the extension criteria must carry the expired credential with a copy of Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) Number: 08-20, Change 3).

The Coast Guard National Maritime Center (NMC) has issued a bulletin advising mariners of the steps to take to obtain merchant mariner credentials (MMCs) lost or destroyed during Hurricane Dorian.

In accordance with Federal Regulations, duplicate Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMCs) may

Coast Guard extends validity of recently expired MMCs

The Coast Guard has extended merchant mariner credentials (MMCs) and medical certificates that expired earlier this year (and December 2018) or are set to expire in July. National Maritime Center reopens

The National Maritime Center (NMC) reopened on Monday and is implementing measures to address increased levels of application inventory.

The Coast Guard has issued a bulletin on how U.S. mariners can receive free duplicate merchant mariner credentials (MMCs) to replace originals lost or destroyed as a result of Hurricane Michael or subsequent flooding.
