Udelv, Mobileye partner on autonomous delivery vehicles

Autonomous middle- and last-mile electric delivery vehicle maker Udelv is partnering with software maker Mobileye on a new system to enable round-the-clock use of Udelv’s driverless Transporter automated delivery vehicle (ADV).

The two companies expect to produce 35,000 of the ADVs from 2023 to 2028. The first likely customer is Hertz Corp. subsidiary Donlen. The fleet management company placed a nonbinding preorder for 1,000 of the self-driving delivery vehicles.

Gatik, Isuzu to partner on autonomous truck platform

Truck manufacturer Isuzu North America and autonomous vehicle startup Gatik will collaborate on a fully autonomous medium-duty truck, the companies announced Tuesday.

The collaboration will see Gatik install its autonomous driving technology into Isuzu N-Series truck models to create a Level 4 self-driving vehicle. The first test vehicles are expected to be deployed later this year.

Gatik to test electric-powered autonomous vehicles for Walmart

Autonomous vehicle startup Gatik is already proving its technology can work in middle-mile delivery, but now it is adding a fully electric vehicle to the mix.
