THE PENTAGON – The Marines identified the three service members who were killed in the Sunday crash of an MV-22B off the coast Darwin, Australia.

The Marines were Cpl. Spencer Collart, 21, Capt. Eleanor LeBeau, 29, and Maj. Tobin Lewis, 37. All three Marines were assigned to “the Red Lions” of Marine Medium Tiltrotor (VMM) Squadron that were forward deployed to Marine Rotational Force – Darwin.

A sailor died aboard USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) Thursday, the Navy announced Saturday.

Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Nicholas Woods died on Aug. 18 while aboard the ship, according to a Navy press release. He was 27.

While a cause of death is pending, a Navy official told USNI News that it appears that it was from a medical issue.

The Navy identified a sailor, assigned to USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51), who went overboard as Seaman Recruit David Spearman.

Spearman, who was on his first assignment, went overboard Monday afternoon, 6th Fleet spokesperson Lt. Richlyn Ivey said in an email. Arleigh Burke was operating in the Baltic Sea at the time, according to a Thursday Navy press release.

Navy Identifies Sailor Who Died on USS Carl Vinson

Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Darren Collins, 22, died aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) Sunday morning, the Navy announced Monday.

The Navy is investigating Collins’ death, but there are no indications of foul play or suicide, according to the Navy’s Monday night release.

Collins joined the Navy in 2019 and reported to Information Warfare Training in Pensacola, Fla. He was assigned to Carl Vinson in October 2020.

Lt. Richard Bullock, a Navy pilot, died June 3 after his F/A-18E Super Hornet crashed, the Navy announced late Sunday night.
