Heavy-lift operator AAL buys two ships and plans to build four more

Specialist heavy lift project carrier, AAL Shipping (AAL) has bought two 33,000 deadweight heavy lift ships and has given an update on its newbuilding plans.

The two newly-bought vessels are, the ‘AAL Mars’ and the ‘AAL Merkur’. The vessels have been serving within AAL’s operating fleet worldwide on a commercial management basis.

Iran allocates over $857 million for maritime reform plan

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has allocated 36 trillion rials (=$857.2 million) of its budget resources for a program to develop the country’s maritime industry, including the construction of 83 vessels, the head of PMO informed.

Speaking in the 27th conference of coordination among the country’s maritime bodies in Tehran, Mohammad Rastad noted that PMO has taken significant measures regarding the improvement of the country’s maritime industry.

Nauticor, Fassmer join forces for LNG newbuilding, retrofitting projects

Nauticor, Germany-based LNG supplier, entered into a cooperation with manufacturer of special purpose vessels Fr. Fassmer, in newbuilding and retrofitting projects for ships with LNG engines.

Carnival Panorama passes sea trials in Adriatic Sea

Carnival Cruise Line announced that its newest ship, ‘Carnival Panorama’, successfully completed sea trials in the Adriatic Sea earlier this week, in anticipation of its inaugural cruise from Long Beach, on 11 December 2019.

CMA CGM splits orders between LNG and scrubbers
