Hapag-Lloyd acquiring stake in Italian logistics company

German container shipping line Hapag-Lloyd announced Thursday it is acquiring a 49% stake in Italian logistics company Spinelli Group. 

The Spinelli family will retain a majority stake of 51%, according to Hapag-Lloyd. 

“The parties have agreed to not disclose any financial details of the deal,” the four-sentence announcement said. “The completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the responsible antitrust authorities, which is expected within the next months.”

Hapag-Lloyd finalises NileDutch acquisition

The German box carrier Hapag-Lloyd has successfully closed the acquisition of the Dutch container shipping company Nile Dutch Investments B.V., with the commercial integration to be completed by the end of the year.

After signing a sales and purchase agreement in March, the deal has been approved by worldwide antitrust authorities and completed between the parties with Hapag-Lloyd having now formally acquired all shares of NileDutch.

Hapag-Lloyd profits triple and soaring rates promise billions more in 2021

Hapag-Lloyd will see billion-dollar profits this quarter and the next, as even higher freight rates kick in across global tradelanes.

Hapag-Lloyd acquires African trade specialist NileDutch

Splash247 reports German liner shipping company Hapag-Lloyd’s acquisition of African trade specialist NileDutch. It’s not a big deal, the Rotterdam-based carrier operates 10 services between Europe, West Africa and Latin America and has a fleet capacity of around 80,000 teu. CMA CGM to launch Asia-West Africa service via Suez Canal

CMA CGM this month will launch a standalone Asia-West Africa service, the first in the trade to be routed via the Suez Canal on its headhaul voyages.
