Shell Unit Tops Singapore Bunker Supplier List

Global energy major Shell has been named as Singapore’s top bunker supplier by volume in 2020.
The demise of Hin Leong subsidiary Ocean Bunkering Services appearing to benefit a number of the largest global oil firms.

Shell’s Singapore bunkering unit, Shell Eastern Trading Pte Ltd, became the top marine fuel supplier in the world’s biggest ship refueling hub in 2020, reports Reuters.

MPA Suspends Singapore Marine Fuel Supplier’s Licence

According to a Reuters report, Singapore has suspended the supply licences of Hin Leong shipping fuel unit.

Licences cancelled

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said that it has suspended licences held by a subsidiary of defunct oil trader Hin Leong Trading Pte Ltd to sell ship fuel. It was reported that the subsidiary company could no longer meet the licensing requirements.

The MPA suspended Hin Leong’s subsidiary Ocean Bunkering Services Pte Ltd (OBS) licences.

OBS To Cease Singapore Bunker Supply!

Ocean Bunkering, the top-three-ranked Singapore bunker supplier owned by oil trading firm Hin Leong, will suspend some marine fuel deliveries from the end of this week, according to news agency Reuters.
Two sources said Ocean Bunkering was cancelling scheduled deliveries.
A bunker industry source told that the company was carrying out previously ordered deliveries only, and not offering for new deals.
