Ocean Alliance unveils service network for 2023

Ocean Alliance, comprising CMA CGM, COSCO, Evergreen and OOCL, has announced its service network for the next year, which is expected to launch on 1 January 2023.

The four parties signed the Ocean Alliance Day 7 Product which includes 40 services and an annual capacity of 22.4 million TEUs on major trade routes worldwide.

OCEAN Alliance to upsize Transatlantic lane again

The OCEAN Alliance is upsizing its transatlantic service again by replacing four 8,500-10,000 TEU ships with four 11,000 to 14,000 TEU vessels.

COSCO Shipping Lines, CMA CGM and Evergreen Marine Corporation form the alliance.

FMC to intensively monitor pricing and capacity tactics of ocean alliances

The independent federal agency of the United States, Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) has announced enhanced monitoring of the three global container shipping alliances.

FMC said in its latest statement that “the three global ocean carrier alliances and each of their member companies will now be required to provide enhanced pricing and capacity information.”

The commission noted it will use these uniform data to assess ocean carrier behaviour and marketplace competitiveness.

More 2M transpac voyages ‘slide’ as vessels still queue at USWC ports

The 2M partners, Maersk and MSC, have cut two scheduled transpacific calls, but the two lines offer different reasons.

Shipping alliances drop almost 400 port calls in North Europe in five months

Nearly a quarter of the scheduled port calls of Asia-North Europe alliance loops were omitted in the past five months, according to an Alphaliner survey.
