More than 80% of ships are speeding through “go slow” zones set by environmental regulators along the U.S. East Coast to protect endangered North Atlantic Right Whales, reports Reuters citing a report released by environmental group Oceana.

Report: Amazon generated 465M pounds of plastic packaging waste in 2019

A report released on Tuesday from environmental nonprofit Oceana slams Amazon’s use of plastic packaging, stating that the e-commerce giant produced enough waste last year to encircle the globe 500 times in the form of its air pillows.

Carnival Corporation Sells ‘Oceana’ for An Undisclosed Amount

Oceana uses tech to identify illegal fishing and human rights abuses at sea

Oceana published an investigative report showcasing the power of technology to shed light on possible illegal fishing and human rights abuses at sea. Using the Global Fishing Watch mapping platform, Oceana analyzed the activities of vessels with histories of possible illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, forced labor or human trafficking.
