Rystad Energy sees rise in floating drilling units demand towards 2022

The Norwegian energy research and consultancy firm Rystad Energy reported that according to its estimations the demand from the world’s top oil companies for floating drilling units will increase through 2020 and 2021.

First oil production for UAE and China JV

According to a recent statement, Al Yasat, ADNOC’s joint venture with China’s CNPC, produced its first oil from the Bu Haseer 2 Offshore Platform in Abu Dhabi.

This is the second production platform on the Bu Haseer field which is expected to deliver 15,000 bpd and contribute to the target of achieving 4 million bpd of oil production capacity by the end of 2020.

EU to support offshore wind projects under the Green Deal

First billion cubic meters of gas delivered via TurkStream

Following the launching ceremony of TurkStream gas pipeline several days ago, the Russian company Gazprom informed that successfully supplied its first billion cubic meters of gas through the pipeline. For the records, TurkStream links the gas transmission systems of Russia and Turkey.

Bad weather postpones rig arrival in Gulf of Mexico

In fact, Byron Energy recently stated that the EOD 264 rig has completed its prior engagements work on Wednesday, January 15, but the rig could not be safely towed from its current location to the SM71 F platform, due to weather conditions in the Gulf of Mexico.

The company added that weather forecasts indicate the possibility of moving the rig later this week. What is more, Byron’s drilling contract does not begin until the rig is under tow to SM71.

France increases 2028 offshore wind tendering target

Namely, the latest version of the Multiannual Energy Programme (Programmation pluriannuelle de l’énergie (PPE)) indicates that France has increased its offshore wind tendering target from 6GW to up to 8.75GW by 2028.

The revised PPE increases the intended operating offshore wind capacity from between 4.7GW and 5.2GW by 2028, to between 5.2GW and 6.2GW by 2028.
