Port of Salalah Contingency update due to Cyclone Luban

Maersk shares an update on the current weather outlook in Oman.

Cyclone Luban is expected to make landfall south of Salalah, Oman on October 12th. High swells and strong winds are expected in Salalah.

Work starts on Sohar sugar refinery

Sohar signs Svitzer pilot boat support deal

Sohar Port and Freezone has reached an agreement with Svitzer, a subsidiary of the AP Moller group, to upgrade its fleet of pilot vessels and to provide round-the-clock operational support for ship movements in and around the port.

More RTGs for Salalah

Oman’s Port of Salalah has taken delivery of four more RTGs to meet the operational requirements of its customers. The new stacking gantry cranes incorporate a number of features designed to make them safer, more environmentally-friendly and more reliable, with reduced downtime.
