Foreship Expects Scrubber Demand to Increase

Independent naval architect and marine engineering specialist Foreship on Friday (26 March) said with around 60 exhaust gas scrubber references it suggests that better than expected return on investments from open loop systems will translate into further orders once coronavirus-related uncertainties pass, reports Manifold Times.

Ship hire rates likely to benefit as the rate of suspended vessels to retrofit scrubbers increases.
Clarksons says 0.9% of VLCC fleet and 0.3% of the capesize fleet suspended for scrubber installations.
