Port of Wilmington completes Turning Basin Expansion Project

The North Carolina Ports Authority (NC Ports) is prepared to welcome the largest container vessels arriving on the US East Coast, following the completion of Phase II of the Turning Basin Expansion Project at the Port of Wilmington.

Specifically, through this expansion the port will be able to accommodate ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs) with a length of 1.200 feet.

Port of Townsville to establish new container terminal

The Australian Port of Townsville recently announced that is set to establish a new $30 million valued crane and cargo container terminal. Namely, the port’s upgrade came following the heavy machinery and traffic of the shipping containers.

Port of Rotterdam starts Calandkanaal trial

Port of Rotterdam Authority informed that started a new trial in the Europoort’s Calandkanaal fairway. Namely, through this project the port will pay attention to vessels, basically oil tankers, that transit cargo at dolphins 82, 83 and 84 along the Rozenburg Peninsula.

The APM Terminals Mobile facility in Alabama has handled two container ships simultaneously for the first time at its newly expanded berth.

Port of Savannah has the largest crane fleet in North America

Georgia Port Authority informed that Port of Savannah received three Neo-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes, increasing its total to 36. In fact, through this expansion, the port has the largest crane fleet as a single container terminal located in North America.
