Auckland congestion prompts MSC surcharges

Delays of 10-13 days are being reported for ships to berth at the Port of Auckland, according to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), which has introduced a congestion surcharge as a result.

The Swiss-based container line has said that its vessels continue to experience significant delays upon arrival at the port, while the situation is becoming even worse due to a lack of dock workers.
