UK box terminal storage capacity expanded following ABP’s investment

Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber recently finished the expansion works on its Humber Container Terminal at the Port of Hull, after a US$5.7 million (£4.8 million) investment.

With the completion of the project, the terminal’s storage capacity has been expanded with an additional 17,600m² of heavy-duty paving.

ABP launches its first port-centric manufacturing site in Hull

The United Kingdom’s largest port operator Associated British Ports (ABP) has launched the first of its port-manufacturing sites, called the Humber International Enterprise Park (HIEP), at ABP’s Port of Hull.

The 1,893,996 m2 HIEP site includes 857,934 m2 of the port estate that benefits from Enterprise Zone Status, which is situated within the Humber Freeport Tax Assisted Zone.

New hybrid crane joins fleet of Port of Hull

A new hybrid Liebherr harbour crane has been delivered to the Port of Hull. The £3.5 million crane purchased by ABP Humber will bolster eco-friendly operations at the port and completes a package of investment made by ABP announced earlier this year.

ABP won a mega paper-deal for Port of Hull

ABP has won a two-year contract with Belgium-based manufacturer – VPK Packaging Group – to handle 35,000 tonnes of paper per year at the Port of Hull.

This bespoke agreement sees ABP handling paper reels destined for consumer packaging, from a weekly container shipment from Ghent at the Hull Container Terminal. It is then offloaded into the UK’s only All Weather Terminal storage area.

ECL unlocks Port of Hull benefits

An international Caribbean shipping service has recently unlocked multiple routes to the Port of Hull, handling thousands of tonnes of breakbulk and project cargo per year.

ABP agrees with Thor Shipping for 10 years

Leading port operator, ABP, on Jan. 9 announces a major new agreement which sees Thor Shipping & Transport commit 10 years to The Port of Hull.

In addition, ABP has invested £6 million into Thor’s 10-acre leased terminal, allowing substantial infrastructure improvement works and an additional 2.5 acres of container storage space. Port of Hull expands its network

ABP’s Port of Hull continues to boom as it welcomes yet another new container service. The latest service will connect Hull with Antwerp, Belgium’s largest port.

Global logistics company, Samskip, has opened up the twice-weekly route which will officially arrive at the Port of Hull for the first time on 14 October, with a vessel holding over 500 twenty-foot containers.
