Port of Kiel to be fund for digital test field

The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) of Germany will fund the establishment and operation of a digital test field in the seaport of Kiel.

As part of the D-Tech-Base project, port terminals for roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) traffic will become test fields for the new 5G terminal communication and traffic control for the first time, according to a statement.

Port of Kiel aspires to fully reduce emissions by 2030

The Port of Kiel has launched a three-step plan that puts the port’s ‘Blue Port’ concept into concrete terms, as a framework of its effort to completely reduce all of its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2030.

Port of Kiel launches rail service to Italy through Lehrte MegaHub

Τhe German seaport of Kiel has unveiled plans to get additional capacity and faster connections in rail freight transport with the new service destined to Verona in Italy, via the rail terminal Lehrte MegaHub.
