Porto Itapoá surpasses 1 million TEU threshold for the first time

Porto Itapoá achieved an important milestone in 2023 handling 1 million TEUs in a single year for the first time in its history. The terminal is projected to finish the year with movement very close to 1.2 million TEUs, solidifying its position as the fourth-largest container port in Brazil.

New container service connects Europe with South America

Porto Itapoá in Brazil will be the first port in South America to use remote-controlled rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTGs).

Port Itapoá sees H1 imports spike by 41.3%

The Brazilian Porto Itapoá has recorded a strong recovery from the Covid-19 crisis while during the first half of the year it marked a rise of 41.3% in imports over the same period of 2020 with 70,000 containers unloaded at the port.

Exports had a growth of 8.5% in comparison to the previous year’s first-half figures with almost 50,000 boxes exiting the port.
