CMA CGM applies PSS from the USA to the Caribbean

CMA CGM has informed its customers about the upcoming Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) that will be implemented from 23 September 2024 (gate-in date) through 5 January 2025.

This surcharge will apply to shipments originating from the USA and destined for the Windward Islands, French West Indies, Aruba, Bahamas, Bonaire, Curaçao, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago.

The PSS will be applied to both dry and reefer cargo, with the rates set at US$250 per 20′ container...

MSC adds overweight container surcharge on India-US loads

The wave of surcharges – usually accompanying an unbalanced supply-demand environment – continues on India-US trades.

The latest pounding comes from Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC) in the form of surcharges for overweight standard containers moving to the US East/West/Gulf Coasts and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Geneva-based carrier has announced a levy of US$300 per 20-foot container or cargo weighing over 18 metric tonnes.

CMA CGM informs its customers of the following Peak Season Surcharge (PSS04) update:

Effective 16 August 2024 (gate-in date) until further notice, a PSS of US$1,000 per unit will be applied to all cargo types originating from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Egypt, destined for the US East Coast and US Gulf.

CMA CGM, the French shipping company, has announced new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates.

These rates will apply starting 1 September 2024 (date of loading) and will be in effect until further notice.

CMA CGM, the French carrier, has announced new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates, effective from 1 September 2024, until further notice.

Hapag-Lloyd raises rates from Asia to Latin America

German container line Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new General Rate Increase (GRI) from Asia to the West Coast of South America, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

This GRI will apply to cargo transported in 20’ and 40’ dry containers, including high cube equipment and 40’ non-operative reefers.

French ocean carrier CMA CGM will apply a new peak season surcharge (PSS) to reefer containers originating from the port of Rio Grande in Brazil.

CMA CGM said the PSS will be US$300 per refrigerated unit and will be effective from 7 September.
