CMA CGM raises rates for Northern Europe and Mediterranean shipments

French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced increases in its rates for shipments to Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.

The company has announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge, effective from 1 February 2025, for shipments from the South America West Coast to North Europe, including Scandinavia, Poland, and the Baltic region. For shipments originating from Ecuador and Colombia, the surcharge will start on 20 February 2025. The surcharge will be US$300 per dry container.

Maersk announces updated surcharges from Far East to India and Pakistan

Maersk is updating the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from Brunei, East China, South China, North China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand to India’s ports of Jawaharlal Nehru, Mundra and Pipavav to Pakistan.

This revision applies to all 20′, 40′, and 45′ dry containers, effective from 21 January 2025.

Maersk is revising the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from India’s ports of Jawaharlal Nehru, Mundra and Pipavav to Iraq.

The following updated surcharge will be effective from 16 January for all reefer containers for the commodity group CHILLED – MEAT and FROZEN – MEAT only for non-shipper owned containers.

KOBC Container Composite Index jumps, Busan-US spot rates surge

The Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) announced that the latest KOBC Container Composite Index (KCCI) stood at 3,480 points, reflecting a 4.41% increase from the previous week.

MSC increases Emergency Operation Surcharge from North Europe to America
