CMA CGM updates Asia peak season surcharges

The French carrier, CMA CGM Group, has announced an updated Peak Season Surcharge effective from 20 June 2024, until further notice.

The surcharge applies to shipments originating from all Asian ports and destined for the Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Indian Subcontinent.

This PSS will apply to Dry, Reefer, OOG, and Paying Empties cargo types, with rates set at US$1,000 per 20′ container (Dry & Reefer of all types) and US$2,000 per 40′ container (Dry & Reefer of all types).

CMA CGM announces FAK rates from North Europe to Northwest India

CMA CGM, the French carrier, has announced that Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates will be effective from 1 July (based on the loading date at origin ports) until further notice.

20’ST 40’ST/HC North Europe to Mundra/Nhava Sheva

This means a rate restoration of US$100 per TEU will be applied to the previous rates in force.

In addition, these offers are valid from North Europe base ports on CMA CGM services. Usual surcharges will apply to outports.

European container lines introduce Asia surcharges

Two major container shipping lines, Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM, have announced new Peak Season Surcharges for shipments originating from Asia.

German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd revealed an increase in the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from the Far East, including Oceania, to North Europe and the Mediterranean.

This adjustment applies to all sailings beginning on the tariffing date of 15 June 2024 and remains effective until further notice. The updated PSS amount is US$1,000 per TEU.
