A Capes “dominated” market… amid an imminent geopolitical episode

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) ended up 20 points at 889 amid turbulent Geopolitics in this second pre-Easter week. John Faraclas daily, weekly and fortnight recaps:

The BDI was also 99 points better off than last week’s (Thursday 18/4 as the 19/4 was Good Friday and the Market was closed) when it stood at 790 points… Let’s watch this rise which after all “looks” significant given 163 points rise since...

Happy Easter

An Easter Day and note to remember

Yacht Club of Greece: An Epiphany with Apollo’s blessing

From the ceremony with the Holy Cross ready to be lowered

Yacht Club of Greece: An Epiphany with Apollo’s blessing

Anny Zade and John Faraclas were there with their cameras

This year’s Epiphany at the Holly Rock by the Sea – I mean the Yacht Club of Greece – attracted nearly 370 guests – members and their friends from Greece and quite a few from abroad; it was one of the best attended events of its kind in the last decade!

All in favour of this event – a religious as well as business event, given...

The BDI@1,401 within the context of a new Geopolitical mayhem…

John Faraclas

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) was up 36 points earlier on today and 29 since last week’s closing of 1,372 points – despite earlier mild hiccups (11 and 12 of Dec). Thanks to the volatile and predictably unpredictable Capes, it managed to stay afloat and “offer” a possible Christmas gift to all of shipping’s stakeholders. Geopolitical turmoil: too much perplexed. John Faraclas’ daily and weekly recaps:

The Capes’ BCI enjoyed a triple digit rise ending the day at 2,383 – a 203 plus...

Capes “fight” back to keep the pace, but…

John Faraclas

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained ten points and now stands at 1,018 thanks to the mild rise of the Capes; Geopolitics still messy. John Faraclas’ brief recap:

The Capes’ BCI was up 33 points and now stands at 1,089 points, a bit of a less than yesterday’s gains…

The Panamaxes’ BPI lost 15 points and now reads 1,378…

The Supras and Handies fall was minimal; the BSI was down three to 956 points and the BHSI minus four to 638 points…

All in all a grounded dry market with uncertainty and...
