Working stoppages at Rotterdam’s terminal

Recent demands made by the Rotterdam Labor Union (FNV) towards the RST Terminal were not attended in full, and Hapag-Lloyd has been informed and is observing many punctual stoppages during some of the working shifts this week.

Without prejudice, Hapag-Lloyd would like to forewarn you of potential future short term changes to sailing schedules for its ships calling at Rotterdam in order to safe-guard the integrity of our CES Service.

Rotterdam rail services enhanced

Weil am Rhein is also known as the ‘Gateway to Switzerland’. It lies close to where the German, French and Swiss borders meet. What’s more, the German town forms the point where inland vessels can start or end navigating the River Rhine. Market uncertainty impacts DP World volumes, but ‘we stay on track’

DP World has reported a 2.6% increase in container volumes for the nine months to September.
But it has warned of deceleration in the market, as its third-quarter numbers declined 1.4% on the same period last year.

Samskip targets intra-Europe shortsea traffic with new Italy-Netherlands rail service

Icelandic shipping line and multimodal operator Samskip has launched a direct rail service between the Italian rail freight hub of Melzo and Amsterdam.
