Mystery solved. Oslo-headquartered subsea specialist DeepOcean is the company taking Island Offshore’s Island Condor on a long-term charter that will commence in the third quarter this year after the vessel emerges from an extensive conversion (see earlier story).

DeepOcean has big plans for the vessel, which will be renamed Island Ocean after its upgrade to a multi-purpose support vessel (MPSV).

James Fisher signs seasonal charter for advanced Go Electra vessel

James Fisher, Barrow-in-Furness, U.K., has signed a charter agreement with Australia’s Go Marine Group for the exclusive use of the 79.7- by 16.4-meter DP2 multi-purpose service vessel (MPSV), Go Electra.

The agreement will see the 2011-built vessel used, throughout the remainder of 2022, by Fisher marine group companies James Fisher Renewables (JF Renewables) and James Fisher Subtech (JF Subtech).

Oceaneering Makes A Generous Donation To Global Ocean

US-based ocean science nonprofit Global Oceans, has acquired, via a donation from Oceaneering, three deep-sea exploration vehicles rated to
6000 meters of operational depth, reports Offshore Engineer.

About the donation 

The donation includes the Magellan 725 ROV, the Ocean Discovery ROV, and the Ocean Explorer 6000 Towed Sonar System, together with the infrastructure needed to deploy the vehicles including winches, cranes, power systems, operational modules, workshops, and supplies.
