Atlas Air’s leasing unit to help Icelandair convert 767s to freighters

Icelandair has agreed to a sale-leaseback deal with a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (NASDAQ: AAWW) that recycles two Boeing 767-300 passenger planes into freighters for the cargo division and provides financial help to the company. The aircraft will replace two Boeing 757-200 all-cargo planes that the airline plans to take out of operation in 2023 and 2024, it said in a statement Wednesday.

Triten expands industrial real estate portfolio through tank trailer deal

TREP adds to industrial property portfolio

Triten Real Estate Partners (TREP) announced Tuesday that it has acquired the headquarters of Polar Service Centers, a parts and repair service provider to the tank trailer industry. The off-market acquisition is part of a long-term sale-leaseback agreement.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Alaska Airlines modernizes fleet with deal for more 737 MAX jets

Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) on Monday doubled down on the Boeing 737 MAX less than a week after the Federal Aviation Administration lifted a 20-month safety grounding. The airline plans to lease more than a dozen of the modern aircraft and sell off less economical Airbus A320s to help its balance sheet.

The moves suggest that Alaska Airlines may return to an all-Boeing fleet, although officials have said they are very happy with the Airbus A321neo.

Auction volumes soar for used trucks

The volume of Class 8 used trucks rolling onto the virtual auction block in June rose. Newer, low-mileage trucks increased in value even as large groups of identical sleeper cabs pushed month-over-month prices lower.

One exception: A 2016 model sleeper cab sold for an average $27,313, up 6.9% or $1,768 over May.
