Samsung Heavy Industries achieves landmark US$3.4 billion deal

Samsung Heavy Industries announced a significant milestone, sealing a US$3.4 billion deal with a ship owner from the Middle East.

This agreement entails the construction of fifteen LNG carriers, each with a capacity of 170,4000 m³ (cubic metres), scheduled for delivery by October 2028.

This contract marks a new pinnacle for Samsung Heavy Industries, surpassing its previous record of US$2.9 billion achieved last July with the signing of a contract for 16 methanol-powered container ships.
