Savage, Canadian Pacific partner on Chicago-area transload facility

Logistics and materials handling provider Savage has developed and is operating a transload facility at a Chicago-area Canadian Pacific rail yard to support the construction industry.

The CPT Chicago Transload terminal at CP’s Bensenville, Illinois, rail yard will transload lumber and building materials to serve the Chicago region. The yard also has access to major Chicago highways, including Interstates 294, 290 and 355 and the Elgin O’Hare Tollway (Interstate 390).

BNSF reopens Memphis-area intermodal facility to meet increased demand

BNSF has reopened an intermodal facility in Arkansas to unlock capacity in the greater Memphis, Tennessee, area.

The railroad said Monday that it has reopened the Harvard Intermodal Facility in Marion, Arkansas, effective immediately to meet increased intermodal demand in greater Memphis.

American Commercial Barge Line names new CEO

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) announced today that is has named Mike Ellis the company’s new chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors. Ellis will assume his new position on Aug. 17.

Today’s announcement follows the July 15 announcement that Mark Knoy will retire from his positions as president and CEO and member of the board of the Jeffersonville, Ind.-based inland barge operator.
