Fincantieri Bay starts construction of CREST Wind SOV

Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., yesterday began construction of the 289-foot service operation vessel (SOV) that it is building for the Crowley-Esvagt joint venture CREST Wind.

HAV Design to develop design for Esvagt’s green SOV

The world’s first green-fueled SOV, just ordered by Esvagt, will be built to a design developed by HAV Design, which will also deliver an integrated equipment package including propulsion system, engines, propellers and positioning system. North Star orders fourth hybrid SOV for offshore wind

Aberdeen, Scotland-based North Star Renewables has awarded Finantieri’s Norwegian based subsidiary Vard an additional contract for the design and construction of a hybrid service operation vessel (SOV).

To be built at Vard’s Vung Tau shipyard in Vietnam, the Vard 4 12 design vessel will be the fourth SOV to be delivered from Vard to North Star for operation on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the North Sea. It is set for delivery in fourth quarter 2024.
