BMW 1st Automobile Company To Join Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative

German automaker BMW Group has recently become the first automobile worldwide to join the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI)which was Launched in March 2018 by the Sustainable Shipping Initiative, reports the Economic Times.

  • SRTI is an independent platform that aims to improve measures transparency and awareness relating to the issue of ship recycling.

Owners increase transparency on ship recycling, says SRTI

The Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI) launched its first report in Hong Kong, revealing that there is a growing movement stepping up the pressure on shipowners to disclose their approaches to ship recycling. Maersk joins the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative

On 10th December 2018, Maersk takes responsible ship recycling further by sharing its approach on the Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI), an online platform where shipowners can report information on ship recycling against predefined disclosure criteria.
