Coastal cargo ship VIET TRUNG 69 was pushed aground by storm at Cua Dai bay coast, Gulf of Tonking, south of Haiphong, on September 20, while ballasting from Quang Ninh in southern direction.

  • The ship was refloated in the morning of September 21 and anchored in Cua Dai bay.
  • Ship’s AIS is missing during the last 3 weeks.

Personnel evacuated from 283 production platforms due to Storm Barry

As the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) informs, offshore oil and gas operators in the Gulf of Mexico have evacuated platforms and rigs in response to Tropical Storm Barry. Port of New Orleans prepares ahead of Storm Barry

The Port of New Orleans announced an update regarding its operations ahead of the severe weather currently associated with Tropical Storm Barry. Namely, the Port decided to apply several measures in order to prepare for the storm.

India takes protective measures as severe cyclone is expected to hit

India has evacuated more than 300,000 people along its northeast coastline by boat, bus and train, as a severe cyclone will make landfall on May 3. In fact, many villagers are piling household possessions on to trucks prior to leaving their homes.

As Reuters reports, cyclonic storm Fani was churning up the Bay of Bengal about 320 km south-southwest of the Hindu temple town of Puri, in an area where special trains were put on to evacuate tourists and the beaches were empty.
